Welcome Center is open!

The Ridgway Heritage Council, in cooperation with the Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce and the Ridgway Industrial Development Corporation, purchased the old Sheetz building on the corner of Route 219 and Main Street. The building now houses the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Manager offices, as well as a Welcome Center now open to the public.

Through generous grants and donations, we have been able to completely renovate the interior of the building.  This was Phase I of our renovation project.

Phase II, planned for Fall 2007 or Spring 2008, will be focused on the exterior of the building.  A more historically appropriate facade will be constructed and handicap access will be improved.

Phase III, planned for Fall 2007, will focus on the grounds and include the addition of several flower beds and the installation of a beautiful clock, which has been donated to our community by the Ridgway Rotary.

Please, be sure to stop by and see the improvements being made to this wonderful property!
