Streetscape Program:

In 2001, the Heritage Council helped Ridgway apply for a federal transportation grant (TEA-21) to perform a major streetscape improvement project in downtown Ridgway. A partial grant of $52,000 was awarded to purchase new cast-iron Victorian benches, waste receptacles, two “Welcome to Ridgway” entrance signs, and 24 light pole banners celebrating the “Lily of the Valley” National Historic Register District. These benches have been installed thanks to the help of several volunteers!

In 2007, Ridgway was the recipient of a larger grant that funded the purchase and installation of new historic streetlights. The Ridgway Heritage Council raised $40,000 in matching funds. The lights were installed in 2007. Everyone loves the great new look for the downtown!
