How You Can Help Us
Donations are a great help in our efforts to revitalize downtown Ridgway. We are a 501©(3) non-profit corporation, and your donations are tax-deductible. All donations are used for general downtown improvement projects, such as our flower program, streetscape improvements (historic benches, lighting, signage, etc), or marketing and promotion (never for individual façade restorations). The Heritage Council is an all-volunteer organization, so 100% of your donation is used for downtown projects.
There are two basic programs for personal donations:
I. The “Friends of the Ridgway Heritage Council”
By making an annual donation, you will be on our list of “Friends”, and will receive a newsletter that we publish once or twice a year to keep you up-to-date on our activities and accomplishments. Checks should be made out to the Ridgway Heritage Council, and mailed to PO Box 285, Ridgway, PA 15853.
II. The Class Challenge
This program was initiated by the class of 1948. They raised $1,948 from their class members to donate to the Heritage Council, and challenged the class of 1949 to meet the challenge! To date, eight classes have participated raising nearly $15,000 for the Ridgway Heritage Council. To participate in a Class Challenge, the class must have a contact person who will help manage the process of requesting and tracking the donations. It is not that much work, and it is a great help to our efforts. If you are interested in helping to start a Class Challenge for your class, please contact us, and we will assist you with setting it up. All class members who donate will be added to the “Friends of the Ridgway Heritage Council” list.
Would you like to volunteer?
