Façade Program

Ridgway is well known for its award winning Historic Façade Grant Program, which was started in 1998 to address blighted commercial properties downtown. The program began as a partnership between the Borough of Ridgway and the Ridgway Heritage Council and was initially funded by a grant from the Stackpole-Hall Foundation of Elk County and the Borough of Ridgway, and was later funded by the Pennsylvania Main Street Program for many years. The program injected hundreds of thousands of investment dollars into the community. At this time, public funding is not available, but we can provide expert advice on how to perform cost-effective improvements that will improve your business image!
