This
home was built by the Hyde Murphy Company after the turn of the century
for William Carman. William Carman was the son of Hiram Carman who
founded Carman, PA along the Clarion River. The village is now
only a ghost town located near where Portland Mills, PA is
today.
William
Carman worked as a conductor for the Clarion River Railroad and also ran
a hotel in Ridgway.
The home
features a wrap around porch, corner fireplace and beautiful beveled and
leaded glass windows.
